BRAVE COALITION FOUNDATION CELEBRATES 6TH ANNUAL BRAVE DAY, EDUCATING AND ADVOCATING FOR BREAST CANCER RECONSTRUCTIVE RIGHTS

SAN ANTONIO, TX March 15, 2019- Breast Restoration AdVocacy and Education (BRAVE) Coalition Foundation celebrates our 6th annual BRAVE Day nationally on Thursday, March 21st, 2019.

On BRAVE Day, the BRAVE® Coalition Foundation is spreading the word that women have the right to restoration after breast cancer treatment. One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and only about 30% will be offered reconstruction. BRAVE empowers survivors with education and resources to give them the choices and opportunity to experience life beyond cancer as her whole self, however she defines it.

BRAVE Day will be celebrated nationally at multiple locations across the United States.

Regina Fearmonti, MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, says “We want breast cancer survivors to be aware of their rights and options to lessen the emotional burden…and aid in a healthy, successful recovery.”

“BRAVE Day is all about informing women of their breast health options. The focus is not on surgery but rather restoration and prevention.Restoration means something different for every woman and this could be as simple as just wearing an external prosthetic in a bra.We are asking for support in renewing the focus and considering the patient as whole by informing them about all of their options prior to making an important life changing decision,” says Dr. Allen Gabriel, MD, founder of BRAVE Day.

BRAVE’s mission is to educate women of their right to breast reconstruction when diagnosed with breast cancer and finding resources to help correct women’s congenital breast deformities.BRAVE’s mission includes education and advocacy for restorative rights for these underserved patients, which are poorly understood by both women and their physicians.
