BRAVE Coalition Foundation Celebrates 8th Annual Brave Day

SAN ANTONIO, TX—The Breast Restoration AdVocacy and Education (BRAVE) Coalition Foundation celebrates the 8th Annual BRAVE Day on Saturday, March 21st, 2020.

BRAVE Day is a national day of awareness and education established by the BRAVE® Coalition Foundation, spreading the word that women have the right to restoration after breast cancer treatment. One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, yet only about 30% will be offered reconstruction. BRAVE empowers the survivor with education and resources, building awareness of the choices and opportunities available for the woman to experience life beyond cancer as her whole self, however she defines it.

BRAVE Day will be celebrated nationally at multiple locations across the United States.

Regina Fearmonti, MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, says, “We want breast cancer survivors to be aware of their rights and options to lessen the emotional burden…and to aid in a healthy, successful recovery.”

“BRAVE Day is all about informing women of their breast health options. The focus is not on surgery, but rather restoration and prevention. Restoration means something different for every woman, and this could be as simple as just wearing an external prosthesis in a bra. We are asking for support in renewing the focus and considering the patient as whole by informing her of all her options prior to making an important life-changing decision,” says Dr. Allen Gabriel, MD, founder of BRAVE Day.

BRAVE’s mission is to educate women of their right to breast reconstruction when diagnosed with breast cancer, and to find resources to help correct women’s congenital breast deformities. To get involved with BRAVE, a 501 (c)(3) organization, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bravecoalition/ or visit us at www.bravecoalition.org or download our BRAVE Coalition Mobile App for iPhone at the AppStore.

BRAVE® Coalition Foundation Spreads Education Advocacy For Breast Cancer Survivors In 8th Annual Brave Day

[PRACTICE/SURGEON NAME] Joins BRAVE® Coalition Foundation In The National Celebration Of 8th Annual Brave Day

[CITY, STATE]: Breast Restoration AdVocacy and Education (BRAVE) Coalition Foundation is nationally recognizing their 8th Annual “Brave Day” this year. Brave seeks to empower women through educating them of their rights to reconstruction when diagnosed with Breast Cancer. BRAVE is about restoring the whole woman after the diagnosis, and is one of few charities that focuses on “after the diagnosis.”

March 21st is National Breast “Restoration” Day – a day that we encourage everyone to spread the word about that women have the right to reconstruction after breast cancer treatment. Although 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, only 30% of those diagnosed know their federally mandated right to reconstruction. For breast cancer survivors to thrive, BRAVE Coalition promotes that every survivor should be empowered with education and resources, building awareness of the choices and opportunities available for the woman to experience life beyond cancer as her whole self, however she defines it.

“Awareness of breast reconstruction options while undergoing breast cancer treatment changes a woman’s outlook on the whole process,” said Regina Fearmonti, MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. “While some women may opt to delay their reconstruction until cancer treatment is completed, knowing that there are options to rebuild their breasts and lives after breast cancer does serve as a light at the end of the tunnel. Every woman deserves to participate in that discussion.”

BRAVE Day will be celebrated locally [at _______ office at Your address here] and will nationally be celebrated at multiple locations across the United States.

“At the time BRAVE was founded, there wasn’t a nonprofit that focused attention on breast restoration, also referred to as reconstruction,” says Christine Grogan, MHA/EMHL, Founder. “BRAVE was started to help the woman know of heroptions after breast cancer removal, so there could be a positive focus during the next phase of her journey. We call it “restoration” since the end result is for the woman to be restored to her best self, whatever she chooses.”
